Key components
- Hosting facility: redundant, battery and generator backup. A power or system failure at the central office won’t disable your phone service
- Dual T-3 connections to the Internet. Plenty of capacity for phone traffic, and a failure of one connection won’t disrupt phone service
- agileTel PBX/Router/firewall. Enables the IP phones in your office(s) to communicate with our facility over one or more broadband Internet connections. An agileTel device in one office can support multiple multiple locations with the use of a SIP-aware router at the additional offices/locations. Reduces the amount of configuration in your phones. agileTel PBX also supports up to 4 legacy telephone connections for another backup scheme.
- T1, Cable, DSL connections – phone traffic will operate effectively over each. Different broadband connections can handle more concurrent phone calls than others.
- Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) – the global phone network for both incoming and outgoing calls. Only calls that go out over the PSTN are charged. Calls that stay within the network (either to extensions within the company, or to other agileTel customers) are free.
